The LCRA Irrigation team is looking for a Pumping Operator! Based in Bay City, you will have the unique opportunity to work hand in hand with industry and agricultural partners across Matagorda and Wharton counties. You will work with a skilled team and receive valuable training through on-the-job experience. This position may have assigned responsibilities during natural disasters such as hurricanes or floods. - Travel independently or with a small crew to various locations (substations, power plants, water systems, parks, recreation areas, conservation areas, etc.) as scheduled.
- Review both short-term and long-term workloads schedules to ensure adequate workflow. Provide input into budgeting process, pay actions, and other employment decisions, equipment replacement and/or repair, and decisions pertaining to effectiveness of work group efforts.
- Often operate heavy equipment including tractor/mower, track hoe, backhoe, dump trucks, dozers, etc.
- Use effective problem-solving skills to identify maintenance requirements on an annual basis.
- Four or more years of experience in mechanical installation, maintenance and/or repair, or other relevant experience, including at least two years of experience with electric motors.
- Experience in operating Heavy Equipment
- Mechanical and Electrical experience
- Class A Texas commercial driver's license or equivalent from another state
