Lease Operator / Pumper is responsible for monitoring and reporting on production and other well information and provides maintenance on production equipment. The position applies advanced skills to perform routine and complex operations using tools and equipment appropriate for the energy industry. Must have knowledge of the technical concepts, practices, and procedures of industry standards and government regulations related to the oil and gas industry.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Gauge production on assigned wells and record gauge readings, downtime and other well information into the production system.
•Perform lease maintenance such as surface pump and production equipment repairs and adjustments; trim weeds, clean up trash, grease pumping units, service lease equipment, etc.
•De-energizing pump panels at safety switch to perform minor electrical maintenance.
•Note problems and/or recommend a course of action to the supervisor in order to minimize costs and maximize production.
•Assist with pump and compressor maintenance such as oil changes, filter changes & adjusting advanceflow valves
•Attend and participate in production meetings, safety meetings, and performance reviews.
•Perform work in a manner that ensures the secure and environmentally safe operation of all wells, equipment, and leases for which the pumper is responsible.
•Conduct other tasks as required by the supervisor which are unique to the assigned geographic area.
•Must be self-motivated, have strong ethics, ability to work with minimum supervision, have reliable attendance, and demonstrate flexible cooperative behavior in the workplace.
•Must be dependable and have the ability to work overtime, if necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed outdoors where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes, and gases is common. Noise level is moderate to loud and includes sounds of construction, equipment operations and trucks and equipment. Job hazards include working in normal light and heavy construction activities and working around pressured propane, water, electricity, and waste lines and under all weather conditions. May work in areas where H2S is present. Overtime is sometimes required.
