Key Responsibilities:
•Provide sound engineering judgment and lead complex evolutions related to pump systems and equipment.
•Establish recommendations and guidelines for pump preventative maintenance practices.
•Review technical documentation, manuals, and work packages related to pump operation and maintenance.
•Perform evaluations of pump internal components during maintenance; assess wear or failure and determine replacement needs.
•Analyze historical performance data to determine service life and reliability trends.
•Develop and maintain pump maintenance and overhaul budgets.
•Provide engineering support during outages, including interaction with vendors to discuss component improvements.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, engineering, and quality assurance.
•Participate in the site emergency response organization and support emergency drills.
•Contribute to the strategic planning of the department and drive continuous improvements in pump program performance.
Requirements:
•Must be eligible to work in the United States.
•Must obtain and maintain unescorted access to a U.S. nuclear power plant.
•Ability to work in industrial environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
•Willingness to travel for vendor support and specialized pump training.
Qualifications:
•Significant hands-on experience in pump operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, preferably in the nuclear power industry or similar highly regulated environment.
•Deep understanding of pump types and associated mechanical systems.
•Familiarity with ASME codes, NRC regulations, and industry standards.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with high attention to detail.
•Proven communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Valued Experience (Not Required, But a Plus)
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related field.
•Advanced, industry-recognized training in pump engineering or related systems.
•Experience in troubleshooting centrifugal pumps and mechanical seals.
•Background in mechanical program development and maintenance strategy.
