Position Description: Job Overview:The Service Technician plays a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and removal of propane and fuel bulk tanks for residential, temporary heating, and industrial applications. This full-time, non-exempt position reports directly to the Department Manager and requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to safety standards.
Essential Job Functions:Install, replace, and repair a variety of pumps, motors, gauges, and piping systems.
Deliver, install, troubleshoot, and repair temporary heating equipment, including heaters, hoses, ground thaw equipment, and fans.
Ensure all installations and repairs comply with company and regulatory safety guidelines.
Safely operate necessary vehicles and equipment, including trenching machines and truck-mounted cranes.
Deliver and pick up bulk fuel and propane tanks, ensuring proper handling and secure placement.
Drive and maneuver vehicles in challenging conditions, such as inclement weather, tight spaces, and high-traffic areas.
Accurately complete and submit reports, daily paperwork, and special project documentation in a timely manner.
Utilize handheld tablets and/or smartphones for time tracking, equipment documentation, and work order updates.
Follow company policies, quality control measures, and safety/environmental regulations at all times.
Lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds of equipment.
Stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
Work in environments with exposure to dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, slippery surfaces, low-lit areas, heavy traffic, and high noise levels.
Maintain focus and perform responsibilities effectively in high-pressure situations.
Exhibit strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
Maintain a professional, courteous, and customer-focused approach at all times.
Demonstrate reliability through regular attendance and consistent work performance.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.Qualifications/Experience/Education:High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of position related experience
Basic mechanical aptitude including but not limited to minor electrical, knowledge of pumps, motors and piping required
Valid Class B license.
Pass 7-year criminal background check
