Job Summary

The Promotional Sales Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for promotional distributors within Benchmade Knife Co.’s Corporate Gift Sales Channel. The Account Manager plays a key role in representing Benchmade’s premier corporate gifting portfolio, ensuring distributor partners are equipped to offer high-quality knives as impactful branded gifts across a range of industries.

This role is responsible for initiating, growing, and maintaining strong relationships with Promotional Product Distributors, while managing the full sales cycle, including lead follow-up, generating quotes and proofs, entering orders, and providing phone support to the channel. Additional responsibilities include supporting account setup, onboarding, program and product training, and ongoing account management.

The role also involves identifying growth opportunities, contributing to forecasting efforts, executing marketing campaigns and working proactively to deliver a seamless and positive customer experience. This position also includes preparing for and managing promotional trade shows and other sales events. Communication is primarily conducted via phone and email, with occasional travel required.



Responsibilities

- Own and manage the Promotional Distributor experience, from initial outreach to ongoing account support.

- Drive revenue by meeting or exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.

- Manage the full sales funnel, including lead generation, account setup, quoting, order processing, and post-sale follow-up.

- Proactively prospect and engage potential distributor accounts, introducing Benchmade’s premium knives and gifting solutions.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with accounts, understanding their unique needs and delivering tailored solutions.

- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring timely responses to inquiries and efficient resolution of issues.

- Develop and execute targeted marketing campaigns to attract and onboard new corporate promotional distributors.

- Establish and maintain an annual marketing cadence, including identifying and executing campaign opportunities.

- Align internal resources (sales, marketing, creative, and production) to maximize outreach and drive conversion.

- Deliver training and support to distribution partners, enabling them to confidently represent and sell Benchmade products.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the distributor ordering process and enhance the customer experience.

- Attend trade shows and industry events to network, generate leads, and showcase Benchmade’s products.

- Analyze market trends and competitive activity to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.

- Monitor distributor performance and implement strategies to support success and long-term engagement.

- Serve as a brand ambassador, promoting Benchmade’s values and commitment to quality.

- Provide occasional backup support to the Sales Manager and other corporate team members as needed.


Qualifications

- Some college coursework completed, and 3-4 years of sales experience, preferably with a premium brand is required.

- Previous sales experience required.

- Equivalency to the qualification standard will also be considered.

- Previous experience in the promo industry is highly preferred.

- Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is highly preferred.

- Strong computer/administrative skills with thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office.

- Knowledge of Syspro (ERP) is preferred, but not required.

- Excellent business communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills.

- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.

- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced ever-changing environment.

- Comfortable shifting quickly between tasks while maintaining focus and follow-through.

- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

- Must have a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.

- Team player with a positive working attitude.



Working Conditions

- Work Arrangement: Office-based position with hybrid/remote flexibility.

- Travel: Up to 30% travel required, including occasional weekends.

- Busy Season: PTO blackout period during peak season (October–December).

- Physical Demands: Extended periods of sitting and phone communication.

- Ability to set up and take down trade show booths and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
