The Projects Material Coordinator is an embedded contract position, working in conjunction with the Hilcorp Projects Group primarily focused on material procurement, coordination, staging and transportation for multiple Hilcorp Entities and worksites. Your work is essential to a team that includes Engineers, Project Managers and Field Based Construction Foreman. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position based in Anchorage, with occasional visits to the slope or fabrication shop as needed.
The Projects Material Coordinator will support Project Managers by providing material and AFE estimates and utilizes engineering material take offs to order long lead and bulk materials, and quickly locate and order material shorts missed by engineering requisitions. This position will track every item ordered in an excel report called the Material Status Report (MSR). The Material Status Report (MSR) is used to monitor ordered materials, from initial request to final delivery or staging. It records key details such as order status, delivery timelines, expediting updates, and Bill of Lading numbers. The MSR ensures transparency and accountability by documenting each step of the procurement and logistics process, helping teams efficiently manage materials for project execution. You will share the MSR report with the team at least once a week. You will quote and set up transportation of materials you and others order. You may be asked to go to the slope to assist a team in detailed tracking and onsite staging.
You will oversee project close out to confirm each po is invoiced and paid, materials are either disposed of, turned in, or left at the facilities. If time allows may assist engineers in turnover of red lines, document control, creation of drawing indexes, equipment tag list and management of tag request.
You will support Engineering by suggesting new Vendors for certain products and assist vendors on obtaining approval as a new Hilcorp supplier. In addition, you will need to ensure Vendor Data is included, properly filed and possibly approved by Engineering.
You will interact with Hilcorp vendors, Hilcorp Warehouse personnel, transportation providers and fabrication shops daily or as needed.
It is imperative for this position to provide quality-driven, cost-effective purchases, and transportation services. You will do this by bidding on most material purchases and transport costs to ensure we are getting the best quality products at the most competitive cost.
