PROJECT RESOURCE GEOLOGIST
Northern Star Resources Limited (ASX: NST) is a global-scale Australian gold producer with Tier-1 world-class projects located in highly prospective and low sovereign risk regions of Australia and North America. Northern Star's gold mines are all world-class, low-cost, high-grade gold mines, which together have produced over 20 million ounces to date. This large inventory means a further 10 years of mine life visibility ensuring Northern Star has a long future based on its Tier-1 operations of Kalgoorlie, Jundee and Pogo. Since acquiring these operations, Northern Star has been able to significantly extend the mine life and grow the resource base of all of our mines by investing heavily in near-mine and in-mine exploration.

THE OPPORTUNITY
In this fast-paced and diverse role, you will report to the Senior Resource Geologist, and will be responsible for the implementation and execution of geological tasks for the Underground mine. Duties include:
•Delivering grade control and resource models with associated documentation. Pogo models require intensive interpretation, development of ore body and geology wireframes, estimation and comprehensive documentation of the processes.
•Liaising with production and drilling geologists to ensure drilling and mapping is planned and scheduled in order to allow timely delivery of estimations to meet operational and Northern Star corporate reserve deadlines.
•Reviewing project areas to identify resource extension opportunities and additional resources, assist drilling geologists with any additional drilling required.
•Developing and maintaining strong relationships with drill and blast staff and mine planning engineers to ensure that models are delivered to meet operational requirements.
•Prior to modelling, reviewing relevant underground mapping and sampling for quality and provide feedback.
•Interpreting and validating the geology and assay value results to guarantee integrity and reliability of the geological database.
•Actively participating in all QA/QC programs including lab audits. Monitoring and producing relevant reports on QA/QC performance of assay labs and other data sources to ensure accurate records are maintained for all resource evaluation activities.
•Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and statutory requirements in order to minimise Northern Star's risk exposure and liabilities.
•Driving ongoing geological improvement by analysing existing processes and implementing enhancements.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR
•High level wireframing skills.
•Competent in running estimations (preferably Kriging).
•Experienced in the use of Geological Software including Vulcan, Leapfrog & Acquire.
•Minimum of 5 years underground geology experience in the mining industry (preferably in gold).
•Ability to work unsupervised and display good problem-solving and analytical skills.
•Geology degree from a recognised tertiary institution.
WORK SCHEDULE & ENVIRONMENT
This role will work a rotational schedule at a remote campsite. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to extreme and changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise, varying degrees of light, in and around artificial light.
