Project Manager
Industrial Steel LLC, Titusville, FL
Structural steel fabricator in Titusville, Florida is seeking an experienced project manager with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in the structural steel industry. We are looking for a team player with excellent communication and organizational skills. This position will report to the President.
The Project Manager serves as the liaison between our client, team members, vendors, and subcontractors. This position coordinates all project activities to ensure completion is on schedule and within budget requirements.
Essential Responsibilities
•Serves as primary contact to our client and coordinates and oversees all project activities from conception to completion.
•Establish and maintain schedules with regard to both drawings and delivery. Work with client to ensure that our schedule is current with job schedule.
•Reviews and understands submittals and shop drawings.
•Schedule jobs by sequence and work closely with shop schedule in regard to schedule accelerations or delays.
•Coordinate with Shipping Departments concerning deliveries.
•Identify, prepare and issue change orders for material and labor above and beyond the original contract.
•Work with customer on any job site or schedule problems with a continuing attempt to avoid or minimize the cost impact of potential back charges.
•Assist with the change order administration.
•Travel to job sites and client locations as required.
•Schedules shop and field work, orders materials and equipment.
•Communicates with management team and shop personnel regarding workflow.
•Efficiently resolves problems and effectively manages project change orders.
•Maintains positive relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
•Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
•Promotes team communication and collaboration among all project participants.
Required Qualifications
•Minimum of 3 years as a Project Manager in the steel construction industry.
•Skilled in Microsoft Office and general computer software.
•Proficient reading, interpreting, and implementing blueprints, drawings, and specifications
•Strong communication and relationship management skills
•In depth knowledge of the steel construction projects, including materials, work processes, scheduling, equipment, negotiation, and budgeting
•Proven ability to handle multiple projects
•Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
•Strong conflict management skills and a high level of assertiveness
•Attention to detail, quality, and safety
•Ability to work with diverse project management teams
•Tekla EPM experience preferred
