Reports To: Director of Project Management
Position Summary: The Project Manager acts as the liaison between the Company and its Customers.
They are responsible for the overall delivery and success of their assigned projects by proactively and successfully managing, planning, and coordinating activities within specified cost and time demands.
The Project Manager needs to manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously and must be organized and utilize effective time management strategies. The Project Manager will need excellent written and verbal communication skills as they interact with executives, contractors, architects, engineers, customer end-users and tradesmen. Minimum Background, Experience, and Requirements:
•4-year bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business Management, or similar field of study.
•3+ years of experience in project/account management roles in construction/architectural manufacturing company, dealership, or installation company
•Proficient in MS Office software suite
•Must be able to read, understand and interpret construction documents, including specifications, architectural and MEP drawings.
•Understand the basics of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing assemblies. Advanced knowledge of these topics is a plus
•Strong organizational skills
•Knowledge of VISUAL ERP, AutoCAD and Builder-trend software is a plus
•Reliable, good work ethic, and high integrity.
Tasks / Responsibilities:
•Review projects with Architectural Drafting/Engineering, Layout, Purchasing, and Sales to understand and meet all the customer expectations.
•Take ownership of the project at notice of award and author all correspondence throughout the project life.
•Work with the manufacturing production team to develop the production schedule, financial billing plan and set project priorities.
•Oversee the Architectural Drafting/Engineering translation of the project requirements, as they may be determined through the contractual plans and specifications as well as the internal estimates and sales commitments.
•Communicate the project fulfillment progress to customers on a regular basis, including attending job site meetings.
•Create detailed project completion schedules including submittals, procurement, production, delivery, and installation.
•Oversee the document control process for RFI’s, submittal drawings and product data (prepared by the assistant project manager).
•Optimize cost effectiveness of project deliveries and installation.
•Manage all aspects of change orders (coordinate the processing and execution), from schedule impact analysis to maximizing revenue for each opportunity that may present itself.
•Review existing project financials to reconcile all charges to ensure proper reporting of cost by project.
•Ensure the processing of final payment is complete and accurate by working with Finance.
•Troubleshoot problems in the field with installation trades.
•Oversee the project close-out and completion of project punch list.
•Maintain customer satisfaction and company profitability.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will have supervisory responsibilities of up to 3 direct reports (assistant project managers and project coordinators)
