About This Job

ENGIE’s Renewable and Flex Power Generation Business Unit is seeking a Project Manager II (PMII) to manage the successful delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects across North America.

As a PMII, you will oversee projects from investment approval through handover to operations, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. You will work in close coordination with engineering, construction management, project controls, and other cross-functional teams to drive project execution across technologies such as battery energy storage, wind, and solar.

What You Will Do:

- Manage multiple complex renewable energy projects (solar, wind, battery storage) through all phases—from development and permitting to construction and closeout—ensuring compliance with legal agreements, health and safety standards, and technical specifications

- Manage project schedules and budgets, tracking progress against approved baselines and proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain alignment with financial and timeline goals

- Coordinate procurement activities, including materials, labor, and services, by working with internal and external procurement teams to obtain competitive quotes and proposals across the full project scope

- Review and approve financial documentation, such as work authorizations, purchase orders, invoices, lien waivers, and change orders, ensuring accuracy and contractual compliance

- Provide regular project updates to internal leadership, clients, and external stakeholders, including detailed reports on schedule, budget, and overall project status

- Support permitting and interconnection processes by collaborating with the engineer of record and relevant authorities to secure necessary approvals and deliver construction-ready documentation

- Manage contractor relationships, ensuring compliance with ENGIE’s contractual, safety, and ethical standards, and overseeing performance across vendors, labor contractors, and general contractor

- Lead and coordinate RFP processes for general contractors and key service providers, ensuring competitive and compliant bid responses

What You’ll Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a technical field with a strong foundation in project management, contracts, and technical specifications

- Minimum two (2) years of experience in project management, engineering, or construction within the renewable energy sector (solar and/or battery energy storage systems)

- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively

- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and project tools like Procore

- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong time management and leadership skills

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and collaborate across diverse teams

Additional Details

- This role is eligible for our hybrid in-office work policy

- This role requires attendance at a worksite on a monthly basis as project phases dictate

- Must be available to travel domestically up to 30% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips

- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record; for the use of fleet cars, personal and or hire cars when traveling, to drive to site locations and meetings

- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

- Must be physically able to conduct site visits and walk renewable energy sites for extended periods of time in hot or cold weather conditions to complete job assignments
