Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead and manage complex projects related to the manufacturing of critical components for submarine construction, with General Dynamics Electric Boat (GDEB) and Huntington Ingalls Industries – Newport News Shipbuilding as our primary customers.
The ideal candidate will bring strong project management skills, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to interpret both legacy 2D drawings and modern 3D models for Virginia Class and Columbia Class submarines.
This role involves weekly customer interface, full P&L responsibility for assigned projects, coordination of subcontractors, and active participation in schedule and budget planning. The Project Manager will work closely with the Production Manager, but will not directly manage tradespeople.
Duties And Responsibilities
+ Develop personal rapport with each contact, which will enhance the possibility of repeat business. Perform as the company representative for meetings with project/contract customers and suppliers to discuss changes in scope of performance or requirements, schedule conflicts, production delays, cost issues, etc.
+ Evaluate Metrics related to project cost, quality and schedule. Determine Corrective actions required. Evaluate ISO 9000:2001 metrics, establishing corrective actions as required.
