As a Project Manager you will be responsible for determining the overall costs of a new or existing construction project. You will estimate labor, material, and time requirements in order to be able to compute the overall cost of the project. You will adhere to financial constraints without compromising on our high standards by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents to communicate the customer’s goals to Operation Managers. Additionally, you will develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers to position us as their favorite trusted resource.
Project Management: Create smooth transition of work from sales to operations; Act as project manager by staying in touch with open jobs and customers; Set and attend formal "hand-off" meeting with production staff; Support production staff with communication and answers to job questions; Attend customer meetings with other staff, when necessary; Coordinate schedule, work, etc. with clients and production staff, including sub-contractors; Occasionally order specialized product; Collaborate with internal staff to discuss jobs' financial outcomes; Review and approve vendor charges weekly; Authorize change orders for additional work; Authorize customer invoices upon job completion
Sales & Account Management: Follow up with prospective customers on their outstanding proposals; Develop and build relationships with customers to position us as their favorite trusted resource; Generate new leads and support existing customers to discover new opportunities; Provide regular and thorough updates to CRM and other software to share info with others; Develop sales targets, strategies, target customers, and other metrics for success; Leverage new and past relationships to increase sales opportunities and relationships; Enhance customer relationships with face-to-face meetings, events, routine messages, etc.
Project Estimating: Estimate jobs according to our gross profit model; Work with clients to clearly define the scope of work via meetings, emails, and other methods; Write detailed and accurate estimates for proposal; Use our software to thoroughly document customer and job information; Research & collaborate with internal & external staff to source special products and find new solutions to problems; Attend pre-bid walk-through visits to jobsites to determine logistics and scope; Negotiate best solutions and pricing to achieve customers' scope, budget, and scheduling needs
Personal Development: Attend ongoing sales, product, and service training to increase skills; Attend additional trainings when appropriate
Specific skills – sales and estimating experience required, working knowledge of construction industry required, blueprint / plan reading skills are preferred
