We are hiring a Project Manager, Asset & Capital [Full-time Permanent] position working out of Calgary, Alberta or Regina, Saskatchewan. This opportunity is open to internal and external candidates. As a Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of water infrastructure across Southern Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia. You’ll lead the development of capital plans and oversee the execution of construction projects – ensuring they’re delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll also collaborate with EPCOR’s Asset Management Office to build risk-based frameworks that prioritize capital investments for both short- and long-term planning.
What you’d be responsible for
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Capital, Growth, and Operations, your key responsibilities will include:
•Collaborating with Site Managers, Maintenance Manager and lead-hands to prepare short and long-term capital plans and annual asset management by:
+ identifying capital projects based on risk-based asset management frameworks.
+ preparing the best possible project scopes and project estimates within the constraints of available municipal funding.
+ providing submissions to EPCOR’s municipal customers and EPCOR management; and defending the proposed scope and budgets
+ presenting business cases to the municipalities.
+ supporting the Asset Management Office in the development of asset management plans.
•Developing, implementing and reviewing Project and Asset Management processes to ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
•Leading the delivery of large municipal capital projects from concept to commissioning.
•Liaising with the municipalities and internal departments to ensure all appropriate performance metrics are met or exceeded.
•Executing the approved program of projects including project managing design, procurement, construction, commissioning, billing, reporting, and closure to meet or exceed scope, budget, schedule, and safety objectives.
•Tracking and coordinating Asset Management Planning activities and facilitating asset risk or criticality assessments.
•Overseeing the activities of contractors and consultants for construction projects to ensure safety, quality, cost and schedule adherence.
•Fostering strong and collaborative working relationships with external clients, operations, and contractors to support the implementation of projects.
What’s required to be successful
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience and behaviours:
•Post-Secondary degree in Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is required (P. Eng preferred).
+ Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is considered an asset.
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) Certifications will be considered an asset.
•Experience that includes:
+ 8+ years of water/wastewater or industrial-related project management experience is required.
+ Strong working knowledge of Water and Wastewater processes.
•Demonstrated understanding of engineering design, environmental impact and construction processes.
•Strong understanding of industrial and regulatory permitting requirements.
•Excellent project management skills encompassing engineering, procurement and construction management.
•A thorough understanding of project control principles for managing budget and change management process is desired.

You demonstrate superior leadership skills and are able to exercise influence when working in cross-functional groups and work collaboratively with others. To be successful in this role, you must be able to manage multiple priorities, meet or exceed deliverables in a timely fashion.
