We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Project Estimator to join our team at K&A Engineering in Rochester, New York. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. - Under the direction of the project manager, provide the project team project cost estimating during all phases of the projects.
- Preparation of Cost Estimates from the Initiating Phase to the Project Close-Out of all assigned projects and for all disciplines.
- In collaboration with company project engineering, responsible for negotiating design modifications (with OE) and construction change orders with contractor.
- Work with Project Manager and Scheduler to develop and refine Integrated Master Schedules
- Support Project Managers, as required, to plan projects, resolve issues and provide cost information
- Establish estimating cost standards formats to ensure overall program consistency and cost quality
- Support as directed new functions and requirements as a result of Risk Analysis Workshops such as contingency management and cost risk management.
- Document all Basis of Estimates and Estimate Revisions
- Utilizes Document Control to archive current and historical estimates and supporting data utilized in estimate development.
- Support cost database development, management, and maintenance
- Familiar with industry Cost Engineering Standards in addition to the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering and best practice 46R-11
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 7 years of experience in estimating the design and construction of electric transmission (38kV and above) & distribution (15kV / 34.5kV) projects
- Professional Engineer License
- Certified Estimating Professional
