We’re looking for a Project Engineer to join our growing, multi-disciplinary team.
As a Project Engineer at SD Ireland, you will contribute to a variety of critical functions including site design, permitting, project management, construction oversight, estimating, and field support. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys seeing projects through from concept to completion. You’ll work across departments to support both development and construction efforts for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
· Design and permit new residential, commercial, and industrial projects
· Maintain regulatory compliance for existing SD Ireland properties (inspections, renewals, documentation)
· Prepare and maintain accurate as-built documentation for SD Ireland facilities
· Conduct construction observation and provide engineer certifications
· Represent projects in meetings with local and state permitting authorities
· Coordinate with municipalities and regulatory agencies during construction
· Respond to RFIs, provide design clarifications, and support value engineering
· Assist in scheduling, procurement, and tracking material quantities
· Prepare and review submittals and technical drawings
· Coordinate effectively with subcontractors and field teams
· Perform cut-fill analyses and prepare itemized material quantity takeoffs
· Generate traffic control plans and technical submittal drawings for project approvals
· Develop and maintain 3D models for projects
· Assist survey teams in tracking and documenting construction progress and preparing as-builts
· 5+ years of experience in civil/site engineering, construction, or related field
· Experience with design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D / Carlson Software)
· Familiarity with Vermont permitting and regulatory processes
· Knowledge of Trimble technology and construction layout systems a plus
· Ability to manage competing priorities and work across multiple project teams
