The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting company projects by representing engineering in the planning, coordination, and execution of assigned project activities. The Project Engineer often serves as a central point of contact between the engineering team and other internal and external stakeholders for cross functional technical and process related issues. Typical internal stakeholders include project managers, business development and proposal team leads, and engineering contributors and managers. External stakeholders will typically include partner engineering firms and customers. Success in this role requires the ability to efficiently formulate plans and strategies to address new demands, as well as the ability to build strong relationships and teams. This position will occasionally be responsible for engineering process related developments and will at times be asked to coordinate cross-functional project activities.
- Interact with project and engineering management from multiple companies to manage cross-functional technical interfaces.
- Have a diverse understanding of engineering disciplines to be able to provide input and support on a wide spectrum of technical and process related solutions.
- Support and coordinate as needed engineering responses to customer Requests for Information and other marketing related activities.
- Manage first of a kind issues and adapt to a constantly shifting business development environment.
- Proactively identify and achieve resolution of project issues and anticipated challenges.
- Provide direction and coordinate project related activities through engineering leads, supervisors, and managers.
- Develop and maintain processes and procedures needed for the efficient execution of the engineering projects.
- Support project risk assessment and risk mitigation activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Experience:
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in engineering with a broad range of responsibilities. Overall knowledge of the fundamental operating principles and systems associated with a nuclear power plant is required.
- Must demonstrate strong technical writing skills as well as good communication, computer, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Required to have exceptional organization skills and ability to manage complex projects with multiple work phases.
- Industry Requirements:
Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
- Commercial nuclear and DOE experience is required
- PRIOR SMR Experience a PLUS+ - PMP a PLUS+Physical Requirements
: Must be capable of climbing, walking, kneeling, bending, and lifting as part of daily job responsibilities. Ability to lift a minimum of 35 – 60 lbs.
