Apogee is seeking a candidate for an entry-level Project Engineering position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing projects from the proposal phase all the way through product shipment. This scope includes: brainstorming, product development and design, materials selection, fabrication, assembly, testing, documentation, and quality compliance through verification and validation.
Apogee will provide all the necessary on-site, in-person job training and mentorship for a willing and motivated individual to excel in this role.

- Tool Design: Use SolidWorksTM to design tooling that will hold, manipulate, form, mask, bend or otherwise create customer specified results
- Fixture Design: Use SolidWorksTM to design fixtures to restrain various materials during CNC machining operations
- Assembly Planning: Provide experience-based planning for the purpose of creating, assembling and/or processing raw materials, parts, sub-assemblies and/or assemblies to meet customer’s specifications
- Rough Cutting: Operate vertical band saw, horizontal band saw, and/or hand saw to prepare raw material for CNC processing
- CNC Machining: Program and operate CNC machines (Knee Mills, Lathe, Bed Mills, Machining Centers) to process rough-cut materials into final shape per customer specifications
- Assembly: Use hand tools (Allen wrenches, pliers, wrenches, ratchet/sockets) to assemble parts into final assemblies
- Execute and document all process, assembly, test, verification and/or inspection reports in traveler
- Support the maintenance and effectiveness of the AS 9100D quality system
- Inspection: Use inspection equipment (pin gages, calipers, micrometer, Romer Arm CMM, feeler gages, profilometer, gage blocks) to determine if final shape meets all customer specifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- Experience in SolidworksTM
- One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- One or more years of experience with CNC programming
