Project Engineer – Geothermal Energy
Open Mountain Energy is seeking a motivated and experienced
Project Engineer
to lead geothermal energy construction projects from early planning through completion and operational launch. This full-time role blends technical engineering expertise, project management precision, and construction oversight to drive sustainable energy initiatives forward.
Key Responsibilities:
•Manage geothermal project lifecycles from scheduling to construction and commissioning.
•Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with internal departments and external stakeholders.
•Evaluate bids and proposals and collaborate with the project team to develop comprehensive project budgets.
•Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
•Partner with executives and management on project design, enhancements, and progress analysis.
•Conduct site visits as needed and provide on-the-ground leadership. Ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory permits.
•Monitor project performance, propose solutions to keep timelines and budgets on track.
•Complete and maintain all project documentation accurately and in a timely fashion.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical) or Construction Management.
•3 years of experience managing capital-intensive projects in power generation or similar industry.
•Experience in geothermal, utility/power, heavy industrial, or related project management or engineering roles.
•Strong skills in schedule development, budgeting, bid analysis, and contractor coordination.
•Familiarity with geothermal power systems and designs, mechanical installations, or industrial process engineering is a plus.
•PMP certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:
•Requires heavy exertion in forms of pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying heavy objects constantly
•Ability to climb, work at elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways frequently
•Requires ability to work from high elevations and over platforms consistently
•Ability to stand for long periods of time consistently
•Ability to stoop, bend or kneel frequently
•Ability to work in all weather conditions up to 70% of time outdoors, year-round
•Ability to lift up to 50lbs
•Must be able to traverse all areas of construction sites and/or Power Plant
•Must be able to travel to various locations
•Must be able to operate a company vehicle with a valid driver’s license
