Position Summary

Project Controls Specialist Il (PCS-Il) is a position responsible for initiating and completing routine aspects of project control assignments including complex aspects of estimating, scheduling, change analysis and cost control. Therefore, the PCS-Il is an essential member of a project team.

PCS-Il supports Senior Project Controls Specialists and project managers on varying ranked projects in accordance with Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCoE) assignment criteria. The PCS-Il is responsible for performing various aspects of project control assignments using prescribed methods and tools.

The position is considered to have advanced acumen in project controls principles and requires a higher level of cognitive comprehension and application. Demonstration comes from extensive and diverse work experience, or less experience coupled with higher levels of formal education. It requires proficient use, understanding and application of project controls principles and associated project controls software tools.

Required/Basic QualificationsThis posting is for one open position. Dependent on relative experience, the level to which a candidate is aligned is outlined below. Project Controls Specialist II* Associates degree in Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Business or other related degree AND two (2) years minimum required related work experience

Senior Project Controls Specialist* Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Project Management or other related degree AND five (5) years minimum related work experience

Desired Qualifications* Bachelors degree

Additional Preferred Qualifications* Software such as MS Project/MS Office Suite, Primavera, Business Objects, Passport, PowerPlan, Emax, Peoplesoft

Working Conditions Hybrid Mobility Classification* – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.
