OVERVIEW
At VCT Group, we’re reimagining how solar and electrification integrate into the built environment. With over 300 solar projects across Ontario, we're industry leaders in designing and constructing custom solar canopies, EV charging infrastructure, and energy systems that meet both environmental and investment goals.
At VCT Group, we're redefining what solar can be — not just rooftop arrays, but custom-engineered solar canopies and carports that reimagine underutilized space. With hundreds of solar projects built and maintained across Ontario, we're growing fast and looking for a boots-on-the-ground Project Coordinator who thrives in the field, enjoys the hustle of construction sites, and knows how to align civil work with clean energy goals.
This role is ideal for someone with civil or structural construction experience, a knack for procurement, and the ability to manage site-level coordination between trades, suppliers, and engineers. You’ll play a central role in everything from total station surveying and material ordering to subcontractor quote requests (RFQs) and progress reporting.
If you love being on-site, working with subs, and getting solar canopies off the ground (literally), we want to talk to you.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
•Issuing RFQs for excavation, concrete, steel, and canopy installation
•Creating and managing bills of materials for aluminum, custom components, trenching, and BOS components
•Supporting total station layout and verifying survey data on site
•Managing building permit process
•Coordinating sequencing with civil crews, electricians, and technicians
•Tracking deliveries, submittals, and construction progress
•Maintaining as-built documentation and supporting project closeout
•Organizing safety files, drawings, and utility correspondence
•Jumping in to resolve site logistics issues and keeping timelines on track
•Collaborating with stakeholders to update schedules, track issues, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
•5+ years in construction or project coordination (civil or solar preferred)
•Strong understanding of construction drawings, layout, and site prep
•Experience on active job sites and working directly with trades
•Familiarity with total stations, trenching, and utility coordination
•Organized, deadline-driven, and capable of managing multiple moving parts
•Proficiency with Excel, MS Office, and cloud-based platforms
•Strong experience, understanding of the construction industry
ADDITIONAL SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS THAT WOULD BE AN ASSET:
•Experience in CAD and total station
•Experience with project management software, reading construction documents
•Understanding of renewable energy sector
•Experience working with local distribution companies.
•Experience in procurement processes
YOU’LL LIKELY BE A PRETTY GOOD FIT IF SOME OF THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBES YOU:
•You often find yourself asking “what’s next?” and have the initiative to take on additional work once your assigned tasks have been completed
•You enjoy learning and are excited at the opportunity to support project development in the areas of solar, renewables, energy storage and electric vehicles
•You’re a bit of a perfectionist, in a healthy way, you value precision and accuracy and take pride in the products of your work
•You already own an electric vehicle, or can hardly wait to get one, and you are keenly aware of your environmental footprint and impact
