About your role:
This is a hands-on, full-time position with day-to-day duties executing the project procurement process and supporting departmental objectives. This position is responsible for execution of the procurement process including planning, execution, status reporting, vendors relations, management of project documentation and materials. The Project Buyer engages in communication with external parties to obtain detailed status information regarding procurements, and report that information to the internal project team. This position analyzes commercial details of vendor proposals and advises on the best fit for the project. The Project Buyer prepares procurement deliverables in line with established templates to facilitate project progression and reporting.
Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities
•Process project requisitions through ZAP’s procurement system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
•Communicate with vendors to request proposals, obtain quotes, and maintain positive relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
•Review vendor proposals for alignment with project requirements and assist in selecting the optimal offering.
•Collaborate with engineering and project teams to address requisition clarifications, discrepancies, and missing data promptly.
•Manage purchase orders, including creation, tracking, and ensuring timely delivery of project materials and services.
•Monitor vendor progress, including the submission of required documentation, placement of material orders, manufacturing progress, and delivery schedules.
•Report the status of key project deliveries and escalate complex supply issues to appropriate personnel as needed.
•Track and document all procurement activities, including maintaining accurate records of purchase orders, vendor communications, and project status updates.
•Follow established procurement procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance and consistency across all activities.
•Conduct research to identify potential suppliers for specialized parts and materials, keeping abreast of market trends.
•Prioritize tasks to align with project timing needs and deadlines, ensuring minimal disruptions to project schedules.
Education
•2+ years of administrative experience required, preferably with exposure to procurement, supply chain, or related fields.
•High School diploma or GED required. Associate's or bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Supervisory Expectations:
•The position does not have any regular responsibility for overseeing or supervising the work of other team members.
Independence of Action
•Work progress is monitored by supervisor/manager; incumbent follows precedents and procedures and may set priorities and organize work within general guidelines established by supervisor/manager/leader.

Company Hours
This position works 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hours vary and are dependent on business needs.
40 Hour Work Week
Monday through Friday, Hours may vary with the workload.
Evenings/Weekends/OT
As needed to satisfy the requirements of the position.
