POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT:
• Manage and monitor project budgets, costs, and expenditures.
• Prepare projectspecific financial reports and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders.
• Track contract values, change orders, and billing schedules to ensure accurate reporting.
BILLING AND ACCOUNTS MANAGEMENT:
• Generate and process progress billings, including AIA documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers to prepare and submit payment applications to clients.
• Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable related to project expenses.
COMPLIANCE AND DOCUMENTATION:
• Ensure compliance with contractual agreements, including lien waivers and retention policies.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records for each project.
• Assist in audits and provide supporting documentation as required.
COLLABORATION:
• Act as a liaison between the accounting department and project management teams.
• Partner with subcontractors and vendors to resolve payment and billing issues.
• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT:
• Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems and processes for project accounting.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction or general contracting industry.
• Proficiency in construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 100, Procore, Viewpoint, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of AIA billing, change orders, and lien waivers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Highly proficient with accounting software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
