Position Summary
Integrated Geomatics Inc. has a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Project Accountant to join our growing team based out of Calgary, Alberta. This role will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of assigned projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, invoicing, and reporting. Working closely with project managers and senior finance staff, this role plays a critical part in ensuring project profitability, timely billing, and compliance with internal and external standards.
Key Responsibilities
•Monitor and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
•Prepare and analyze monthly project reports (budget vs. actual)
•Review and approve project expenditures and timesheets
•Ensure timely and accurate client invoicing and revenue recognition
•Collaborate with project managers to resolve financial issues and support project planning
•Support audits and ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures
•Assist in month-end and year-end close related to project financials
Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
•3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a project-based or engineering environment
•Strong understanding of cost accounting and financial reporting
•Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
•Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
•Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
Nice to Have
•Experience working in the survey, engineering or construction industry
•Familiarity with project management tools and time-tracking systems
•CPA, CMA, or working towards certification
