Job Summary
This role is pivotal in leading a diverse portfolio of capital technology projects that support various operational business units, including Distribution, Transmission, Gas, Energy Supply, Nuclear, and Commercial Operations. The successful candidate will oversee multiple project teams to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery while maintaining the integrity of the approved scope. This position requires a strategic mindset to define controls for effective program management and contribute to overall portfolio budget performance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple delivery project teams, ensuring on-schedule and on-budget delivery to approved scope.
- Define controls to effectively manage program activities and delivery expectations.
- Contribute to portfolio budget performance against the approved capital plan.
- Support project team members in planning and monitoring project progress to ensure milestones are met.
- Manage daily activities throughout the life cycle of the project.
- Manage resources across projects within the program.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues appropriately.
- Coordinate projects and manage interdependencies between projects and workstreams.
- Engage with stakeholders involved in the projects and program.
- Align deliverables across all projects within the program.
- Minimum 10 years of project management experience with large and complex projects, managing budgets of $10M or greater.
- Proven experience leading large-scale software implementations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple workstreams for requirements specification, design activities, implementation/coding/configuration, testing, and final deployment followed by stabilization.
- Strong vendor management experience including RFP process, SOW creation, financial control, and driving vendors to meet deadlines and budget commitments.
- Experience managing projects impacting a large number of users (at least 200) with associated change management oversight.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation principles.
- Familiarity with accrual-based accounting practices.
- Proficient in Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- Utility industry experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
