Job Summary:
The Production Technician Assistant supports the daily operations of our GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) manufacturing facility. This entry-level role involves assisting skilled technicians in various stages of GFRC production, including mixing, molding, finishing, and handling materials. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn specialized GFRC processes. This position is critical in maintaining production flow, ensuring product quality, and upholding safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Support:
•Assist in the preparation and handling of raw materials used in GFRC production, including batching and mixing.
•Support mold setup, release, and cleaning procedures under technician supervision.
•Help with demolding and handling of cured GFRC products with care to prevent damage.
•Perform basic finishing tasks such as patching, sanding, and surface touch-ups.
•Move materials and finished products safely within the production facility.
Quality & Safety:
•Follow established work instructions and standard operating procedures to maintain consistent product quality.
•Conduct visual inspections for defects and report quality concerns to supervisors.
•Adhere to company safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
•Participate in daily safety meetings and contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Team Collaboration:
•Work collaboratively with production technicians and team leads to meet daily production goals.
•Communicate promptly about equipment issues, material shortages, or process deviations.
•Support cross-functional tasks as needed, including cleaning, maintenance assistance, and inventory checks.
Skills & Qualifications:
•High school diploma or GED preferred.
•Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction environment is a plus but not required.
•Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, bending, and manual dexterity.
•Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic measurement equipment.
•Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
•Willingness to learn GFRC-specific techniques and processes.
•Reliable attendance and punctuality.
•Positive attitude, adaptability, and teamwork-oriented mindset.
•Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
Work Environment:
•Exposure to a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, dust, and noise.
•Use of PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, masks, and hearing protection as required.
•Fast-paced production schedule with daily, hands-on physical work.
