General Summary:
Performs a variety of production support duties including, but not limited to loading, unloading, prepping, inspecting material, counting and packaging material safely and efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.
- Racks parts in preparation for treatment based on pre-determined schedule obtained from Lead.
- Builds load bar by adding needed fixtures and tooling in order to rack material for processing. Ensures that all load bar connections are tightened properly in order to make certain electrical contact is made. Designs load bar (racking system), keeping the drainage ability, color coverage, and air pocket potential in mind while optimizing efficiency.
- Unloads and quality inspects parts to ensure they meet company and customer standards using appropriate quality checklist.
- Troubleshoots loading/unloading problems throughout the production process and chooses best course of action. Consults with lead and/or supervisor as necessary and for more complex issues.
- Accurately enters labor and material identification data into software system.
- Packages material according to customer specification with no damage to material.
- Strips used tooling, fixturing and load bar for reuse by processing in specific chemicals to remove anodizing.
- Reads prints and calculates the square foot of a load bar using a tape measure, multiplication, and area formulas.
- Assists with changing anodizing tanks by draining, cleaning, and filling various tanks based on a pre-determined schedule. Assist operator and Lead in clearing out bar crashes when needed, including going on the top of the process tanks when necessary.
- Change particulate filters as needed or as directed by Lead.
- Processes thermoplastic coatings on materials by dipping heated part into fluidized powder bed then transferring the part to an oven for curing.
- Assist with waste treatment when necessary.
- Notifies lead and/or supervisor timely of any scheduling, quality, or mechanical problems.
- Performs all duties in accordance with company safety and standards.
- Uses small hand tools including but not limited to wrenches, drills, chop saws, saws all, bander, and tape measure.
- Ensures work areas are accessible and safe for employee and customer traffic by maintaining a clean work area at all times.
- Establishes efficient work flow based on product and task.
- Efficiently uses prepping and other supplies and notifies the correct person when supplies run low.
- Properly wears required Personal Protective Equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned by lead and/or supervisor.
- Knowledge racking techniques normally acquired through six (6) months or more of similar work experience in an anodizing operation desired.
- Experience operating a crane, forklift, and pallet truck desired.
- Ability to accurately enter data into computer programs.
- Good communication and organization skills.
- Ability to identify quality defects on material which requires good attention to detail.
- Ability to read, count, and accurately read a tape measure.
- Ability to perform basic math including multiplication, division, and area formulas.
- Ability to work in a team.
