Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production department to ensure efficient workflow and optimal productivity. This role includes coordinating activities, managing staff, ensuring quality standards, and implementing safety protocols. The Production Supervisor will work closely with other departments to maintain a seamless production process.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
•Oversee daily production operations to ensure that production schedules are met.
•Monitor and adjust workflow to maintain productivity, efficiency, and quality standards.
•Coordinate production plans with other departments to optimize resources and minimize downtime.
•Supervise, train, and evaluate production staff to maintain a high-performance team.
•Resolve personnel issues and provide feedback to employees regarding performance and development.
•Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
•Monitor the quality of products and implement corrective actions as needed.
•Ensure adherence to production quality standards and guidelines.
•Conduct routine inspections to maintain product integrity.
•Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
•Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
•Investigate accidents and report findings to management.
•Inventory and Materials Management:
•Track inventory levels and coordinate with the purchasing department to maintain adequate stock.
•Ensure that materials are properly stored and handled to prevent damage or loss.
•Reporting and Documentation:
•Prepare and submit production reports, including daily output, downtime, and other key metrics.
•Maintain accurate records of production activities, staff schedules, and safety incidents
Qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities):
•High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
•Proven experience in a supervisory role within a production or manufacturing environment.
•Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
•Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
•Proficient in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
•Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
•Strong organizational and time management skills.
Technical Skills:
•Diagnosing technical issues with equipment and production processes.
•Implementing corrective actions to minimize production disruptions.
•Conducting root cause analysis using problem-solving techniques.
•Ability to analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
•Proficiency in data analysis tools .
•Reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, efficiency, and downtime.
