The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily manufacturing operations of skylight and smoke vent production, ensuring that production plans are executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a focus on continuous improvement to meet customer demand, maintain workflow efficiency, and achieve production targets.
· Supervise day-to-day manufacturing operations for skylights and smoke vents, ensuring adherence to the production schedule.
· Coordinate with Plant Management and Engineering to develop and implement the production plan to meet delivery deadlines and customer requirements.
· Monitor workflow, material usage, and labor efficiency to maximize productivity.
· Lead, coach, and mentor production staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
· Assign tasks and responsibilities to production employees, ensuring optimal use of skills and resources.
· Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback for employee growth and development.
· Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA standards, and industry-specific requirements for skylight and smoke vent production.
· Maintain high-quality standards by conducting inspections, monitoring processes, and addressing quality issues promptly.
· Collaborate with Quality Assurance to investigate defects, implement corrective actions, and prevent reoccurrence.
· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline production processes.
· Implement lean manufacturing practices and encourage employee suggestions for process improvements.
· Support maintenance teams in reducing downtime through proactive equipment monitoring and scheduling.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, logistics, and sales to align production priorities.
· Track and report daily production metrics (output, scrap, downtime, labor utilization) to Plant Manager.
· Participate in production planning meetings and provide recommendations for capacity planning.
