Working and reporting to the
Production Superintendentand working in a collaborative community within a diverse team, you will be
- Monitoring working practices and adherence to safety procedures to ensure safety of employees. Complying with Rio Tinto and Statutory Safety requirements.
- Responsible for providing direction employees in accordance with the production plan and business needs to achieve quality and quantities of finished goods necessary to meet customer demands.
- Providing leadership through team building, planning, and setting key deliverables.
- Interfacing with planners and fellow Supervisors to assist in continual improvement.
- Ensuring work is completed in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and soliciting input from team members.
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in manufacturing or production operations/maintenance or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience supervising a team.- Strong leadership skills.
- Experience in a unionized environment.
- Excellent computer skills, knowledge of MS Office, Excel & SAP
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Knowledge of production or manufacturing equipment including equipment troubleshooting

This role is based in the Port of Los Angeles in the city of Wilmington, California. This historical site is one of the oldest operations in the Port of LA, some employees are third generation workers at this operation. The southern California area offers a vast array of activities for every lifestyle from camping, surfing, fishing, hiking, family parks, sports arenas, concerts and much more.
