PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
This is your chance to join the rapidly growing commercial solar energy business. FLEXRACK by Qcells is an integrated solar company that offers custom-designed, fixed tilt ground mount and single-axis solar tracking systems in the commercial and utility-scale solar mounting industries. FLEXRACK by Qcells also offers full services, including engineering, geotechnical, pullout testing, field, and layout design services to address the actual site conditions of a project site. FLEXRACK by Qcells has completed over 3.5 GW of solar racking installations in over 40 U.S. states, 9 Canadian provinces and across the globe.
This position reports to Production Manager or another management personnel that the CEO of the Company may designate. This position is located in North Jackson, OH, working hours are Monday through Friday. Overtime and weekend working hours may be required as needed.
Direct and monitor, on a daily basis, production work activities, progress and resources necessary to efficiently meet the production schedule and performance metrics. Review schedules to make decisions concerning staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering production expectations and time constraints. Review operations and confer with staff to resolve production problems. Establish workflow policies that enhance 1st time throughput and efficiency without compromising product safety or quality.
- Responsibility for the safe operation, regulatory compliance, throughput, quality, continuous improvement, production, and cost management of plant. Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity
- Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work
- Actively managing performance of personnel and processes in a manufacturing setting.
- Continually review with shop floor team leaders their responsibilities and work together to provide motivation, guidance, support
- Responsible for time keeping of group Oversee a workforce of 15+ employees. Problem-solving methods to continuously identify and improve areas of weakness or inefficiency during the manufacturing production process. - Performs other duties as assigned.Excellent interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills. Apply logic and critical reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Decisive in making logical and informed decisions. Adjusting responsibility in relation to others' actions Demonstrated ability to lead and develop production staff members. Knowledge of codes of standards for AISC, AWS, and CWB Knowledge of structural steel welding and fabrication processes Knowledge of Computer systems and programs, to include Microsoft Office Suite, Procore Knowledge of supervisory HR administrative functions, to include performance reviews, timekeeping, disciplinary action, record keeping and applicable employment law. Overall familiarity within each department of the organization Thorough understanding of structural steel processing specific to roll forming of tubes.
- 5+ years of structural steel (ASTM A500 tubing) or closely related production experience 2 + years of Experience in Structural Steel
- Roll Forming Manufacturing Experience with structural steel Experience identifying and applying LEAN principles/Kaizen events Experience
- Stationary Position: frequently remains stationary up to 90% of the time and sitting up to 8 hours in a day
- Move/Traverse: infrequently bend, stand, stoop and/or walk
- Carry Weight: infrequently carry weight and/or lift objects (light to heavy) weighing up to 10 pounds
- Hearing and Speech: frequently communicates with the ability to hear and talk on a regular basis with employees, coworkers, and all personnel matters; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- Sight: frequent use of sight to detect images on computer, office documents, andoffice objects near and far
- Climb: occasionally ascends/descends on stairway to get to office upper and lower floors
- Travel: up to 2% as needed
