Production Planner/Buyer

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating production schedules to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of products. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments while having excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

- The Production Planner forges a plan considering the available staffing, machine time, customer requirements and other resources needed to achieve maximum efficiency and output while serving our customers.

- Help coordinate the production schedule (WIP) for our facility.

- Issue/receive work orders and maintain work order control/accuracy

- Ensure Jobs and materials are planned, purchased and kitted to support successful delivery of products.

- Ensure all jobs are properly planned and expedite work orders and materials to meet internal and external customer requirements.

- Purchase raw materials and finished goods and ensure sufficient raw materials are available for production needs.

- Manage daily purchasing activities while keeping cost within budget.

Requirements

- Proven experience in production planning or a related field or minimum 2 year experience of working in a manufacturing environment.

- Strong knowledge of Excel

- Excellent communication skills and time management skills.

- Must be able to multi task and work under pressure with deadlines.

- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple priorities.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.

- Must be able to read and interpret customer drawings.

- Must be able to read a tape measure and use calipers

- Must possess basic math skills.

- Must possess basic knowledge of various materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, plastics and sheet metals.

- Must possess basic knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining and fabrication.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
