Production Manager Position Overview
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective execution of operational activities across multiple service lines, including irrigation, landscape installation, and maintenance. This leadership role involves close collaboration with account managers and operations teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high standards of quality and client satisfaction. The Production Manager plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, supporting team development, and contributing to the growth and success of the organization’s production functions.
Production Manager Responsibilities
•Develop and implement strategic plans and operational goals to achieve performance targets across irrigation, landscape installation, and maintenance services.
•Oversee daily scheduling and coordination of production activities, ensuring optimal deployment of personnel, equipment, and materials.
•Lead and manage field teams including crew leaders and technicians by providing direction, training, support, and performance feedback to enhance efficiency and service quality.
•Work closely with account managers and business development teams to support client relationships, contribute to proposals, and identify opportunities for growth.
•Foster strong client relationships by ensuring services meet or exceed expectations, responding promptly to issues, and promoting a proactive service approach.
•Monitor project budgets, analyze expenses, and implement cost-control measures to maintain profitability and operational efficiency.
•Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and internal policies, conducting regular site inspections and promoting a strong safety culture.
•Implement and uphold quality control measures to ensure consistency and high standards across all services delivered.
•Recommend and support investments in equipment, technology, and staff training to strengthen production capabilities and stay competitive in the industry.
•Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices relevant to irrigation, landscape construction, and maintenance operations.
Production Manager Software & Technology Responsibilities (Aspire or similar systems)
•Review and approve crew time entries and project tickets for accuracy; follow up on discrepancies.
•Train team members in the use of operational software for scheduling, time tracking, and job reporting.
•Adjust and maintain production schedules within the software platform to reflect real-time operational needs.
•Collaborate with administrative teams to ensure client and project data is accurate and up-to-date within the system.
Production Manager Qualifications
•Degree in construction management, horticulture, business administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
•Demonstrated experience in managing field operations, preferably within the green industry, construction, or service-based environments.
•Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple teams and priorities.
•High level of accountability and attention to detail in planning, budgeting, and quality control.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-related software platforms (e.g., Aspire, LMN, BOSS, or similar).
