Reporting to the Production Geology General Supervisor, you will be part of the Geology Department. The Production Geology Supervisor is responsible for leading underground grade control activities to meet monthly production targets while ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This leadership role requires a strong commitment to safety, data integrity, and collaboration with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, and Technical Services. The Supervisor will manage and mentor a team of Mine Geologists and Geologists-in-Training (GITs), fostering technical development and operational excellence and will be responsible for monitoring geological performance, running production metrics and analytics, and generating weekly and monthly performance reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Provide effective communication, direction, and training to Production Geologists, Geologists-in-Training (GITs), and Geological Technicians to support grade recovery and risk mitigation;
- Timely and accurate preparation and completion of all planning layouts and construction plans in line with SOP’s and guidelines;
- Compile, review, and distribute weekly production data for use in daily, weekly, and monthly reports, reviews, and meetings;
- Evaluate weekly and 3-month planned shapes to identify opportunities, risks, and communicate findings to Engineering and Operations teams;
- Actively support of all safety initiatives to ensure compliance with the company’s Minesweeper and Zero Harm safety culture;
- Maintain high levels of communication and reporting of production data between Geology, Technical Services and Operations groups;
- Assist with month-end reporting, including GAS report generation, reconciliation, material movement summaries, and grade control documentation;
- Review, create, and improve on current production geology procedures to ensure operational efficiency and compliance;
- Analysis of data and model parameters in line with industry best practice and Agnico Eagle’s standards and guidelines;
- Generate technical reports based on resource definition and production findings;
- Coordinate underground mapping and sampling activities in collaboration with the Resource Geology group;
- Drive continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Tertiary Geology Qualifications; P.Geo preferred;
- Demonstrated proficiency with a wide range of software applications, including geological and mining platforms, data analysis tools, and business systems used for reporting;
- Ideally 5+ years in gold and underground production geology;- Experience with Leapfrog, Deswik, Fusion, DH Logger and Microsoft Office Suite software;
- Exposure to Geostatistics and block modelling;
- Excellent working knowlege of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
