Summary
It is the responsibility of the Production Foreman to supervise all production operations within their assigned area, to monitor the producing wells, maximize production from these wells, and keep production costs at a minimum in a safe and environmentally sound manner. Supervise and direct down-hole maintenance and facilitate continuous improvement in all facets of operations. Continuously improve programs, processes and relationships.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor Lease operators, Field Techs, Contractors, etc.
- Identify production problems and initiate remedial action
- Keep Production Superintendent and Production Engineer informed of production problems
- Work with production engineer to solve production problems and to insure that field operations run smoothly
- Supervise workovers, rod jobs, wireline operations, production testing, etc. as necessary
- Build and design new production facilities
- Install compressors and saltwater pumps as necessary
- Responsible for configuring, installing, and commissioning of new instruments and controllers.
- Ensure weekly maintenance plan is achieved, and all safety devices are within proper operating parameters.
- Identify and address all maintenance issues before they escalate. Report all actions promptly and within guidelines.
- Responsible for ensuring that all instrument, electrical and control systems are installed and maintained in a manner consistent with sound engineering and applicable codes.
- Input daily data into the CMMS program
- Complete all work orders
- Operate in a safe and responsible manner in compliance with all environmental, health and safety guidelines.
- Report all incidents (health, safety, or environmental) to supervisor and/or HSE Director in a timely fashion per policy or standards.
- Build and design new production facilities; Supervise lease operators, mechanics, etc.

- Install compressors and saltwater pumps as necessary; Other duties as assigned by Production Superintendent, Production Engineer or Manager Production Operations.
- Provide day-to-day troubleshooting and support for SCADA field hardware, communication devices, field instrumentation/controls and resolving issues with electrical and electronic circuits.
- Must be knowledgeable in SCADA, I&E, Measurement, and Communication
- Assists in the gathering, recording and analysis of facility operations and equipment necessary to develop solutions to technical and related problems.
- Assists in developing recommended solutions to technical problems, development of “best” practice procedures, promotion of HSE programs, and application of procedures relative to technical issues.
- Performs other duties and tasks designated by supervisor to which he/she is assigned.
- Follows schedule for work in the facility, in the office, training and off time
- Capable of receiving and understanding tasks assigned and performing tasks with minimum supervision.
- Performs “hands-on” operations in the maintenance of plant and equipment
- Assist in the development of equipment maintenance procedures and spare parts
- Ensure all operation activities are performed correctly, efficiently, safely and according to applicable policies and procedures.
- Be able to read and interpret P&ID’s and area classification drawings.

- Must have at least 10 years prior oilfield experience and be familiar with the installation, operations and maintenance of instrumentation and electrical devices.
- Must have working knowledge of electricity, PLC controls diagnostics and programming.
- Must have experience with pressure, flow, level, temperature and analytical instruments, actuated and control valves, power distribution systems, MCC, and switchgear.
- High School diploma.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electronic, Computer Technology or other Technical Discipline is desirable.
