Job Summary:
The Production Coordinator is responsible for supporting efficient production operations by managing and monitoring the daily manufacturing schedule. This role ensures alignment between production targets and actual output, and communicates updates clearly across teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong Microsoft Excel skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with shop floor team members to ensure timely execution of scheduled jobs. This position serves as a key liaison between planning and production and helps guide team members through shifting priorities and resource needs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Review, organize, and maintain the daily/weekly production schedule to ensure smooth flow of manufacturing operations.
•Communicate job priorities and changes to production teams and ensure proper alignment of labor and equipment resources.
•Monitor production progress throughout the day and adjust schedule as needed based on resource availability or issues.
•Collaborate with Production Leads to resolve conflicts in capacity or delays due to quality or mechanical issues.
•Use Microsoft Excel and other internal systems to track job status, update performance logs, and support production reporting.
•Help identify bottlenecks, material shortages, and other constraints that may impact schedule adherence.
•Support root cause analysis for missed schedules and help implement corrective actions.
•Assist with coordinating materials, packaging, and documentation needed for upcoming jobs.
•Prepare and distribute production reports, metrics, and status updates to supervisors and managers.
•Provide guidance to production team members on task priorities and timelines.
•Support inventory coordination and job readiness planning with purchasing and materials teams as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
•Highly organized with the ability to manage shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure clarity across teams.
•Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
•Familiarity with production scheduling software or ERP systems is a plus.
Education and Experience:
•Associate’s Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred).
•1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to production scheduling (preferred).
•Prior experience in a coordinator, scheduling, or administrative production support role is beneficial.
