Position Overview: Plant Coach
We are seeking a dynamic leader to serve as Plant Coach. This role is vital to the success of our operations, providing strategic and hands-on leadership to our production and maintenance Teams. The Plant Coach ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality operations that are aligned with BMC’s values and long-term business objectives.
As a key member of facility leadership, you will foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and team collaboration—developing Associates, optimizing performance, and building trust across Teams. Your ability to connect strategy with day-to-day operations will directly impact the success of our plant and the growth of our people.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
•Champion facility-level initiatives that aligned with BMC’s strategic plan while setting clear performance expectations for the Team.
•Maintain a deep understanding of plant and maintenance operations, production processes, and key equipment.
•Lead scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation based on production needs.
•Assist in developing annual and capital expenditure budgets.
•Identify and implement process improvements using data-driven methodologies.
•Troubleshoot operational issues and drive proactive solutions.
Team & Performance Development
•Set clear expectations and hold Associates accountable to safety, quality, and performance standards.
•Conduct quarterly one-on-one check-ins and deliver timely, constructive feedback.
•Encourage a collaborative, family-like atmosphere that values individual strengths and Team success.
•Promote a culture of growth by supporting associate development and future leadership planning.
•Recognize and celebrate Associate and Team achievements.
Environmental, Health & Safety Leadership
•Lead by example in promoting a safe, clean, and environmentally responsible workplace.
•Ensure compliance with MSHA, WDNR, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
•Train and coach Associates on hazard recognition, risk avoidance, and safe work practices.
•Respond promptly to unsafe situations.
•Ensure timely reporting of all accidents, illnesses, incidents, near misses, and compliance concerns.
•Consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
•Proactively identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
•Maintain clean and organized work areas ensuring housekeeping is completed in a timely manner.
•Partner with the Environmental Team before making any changes with potential environmental impacts.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
•Uphold BMC’s high standards for product quality and consistently strive to exceed customer expectations.
•Use business systems and process data to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
•Apply structured problem-solving techniques to eliminate root causes and enhance process reliability.
•Inspire a culture of learning, curiosity, and innovation across the Team.

What You Bring
•Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
•Proven leadership in industrial, production, or mineral processing environments.
•Solid understanding of financials, budgeting, and operational planning.
•Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and business/quality systems.
•Experience in team-based management, coaching, conflict resolution, and performance development.
•Prior experience working in an MSHA-regulated facility is a plus.
Additional Requirements
•You must pass toxicity testing and obtain medical clearance to wear respiratory protection.
•Physical ability to work safely in an industrial production environment.
•Occasional travel may be required.
