Job Summary:

Design and develop new product lines to meet our customer’s needs. Continuously work to improve or expand current products. Assist in design and implementation of manufacturing tooling and procedures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

- Design new products with suggestions and approval from customers or management.

- Expand and improve existing product lines.

- Coordinate and assist the sales department with setting up and implementing new product lines.

- Verify products meet or exceed BIFMA requirements as needed.

- Follow new products development through from concept, proto-type, and pilot run to full production.

- Creates drawings and bill of materials.

- Work with manufacturing to development and set up production processes.

- Assist procurement as needed for sourcing of components and necessary tooling.

- Continuously work to improve product lines though new materials, better processes and enhanced designs.

- Store and maintain all drawings used by production in Vault.

- Create and implement ECO’s as required.

- Document and maintain all revision levels on drawings.

- Assist in training others as needed.

- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Additional Responsibilities: Maintain a clean work area. Ensure security and proper use of company equipment, tooling and supplies.

- Adhere to all safety standards and procedures.

- Participate in company sponsored training as required.

- Understand and promote Valley Design Enterprises, Inc.’s company mission statement and guiding principles.

Skills and Qualifications: BS degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience. Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor Prof. or CAD equivalent.

- Working knowledge of Autodesk Vault Prof. preferred, but not required.

- Understand metal fabrication in regards to processes, equipment, and tooling.

- Sound knowledge of engineering theory and design criteria.

- Strong problem solving skills.

- Good Organizational and Communication Skills.

Working Conditions:Standard office environment with some exposure to a shop environment which may be dusty and noisy.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
