Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Orlando, FL is seeking a Product Line Manager.
SUMMARY
The Product Line Manager (PLM) manages a designated portfolio of products throughout their entire lifecycle within the power generation services sector. The PLM strategically oversees product development, launch, market positioning, and lifecycle management, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market needs. This role collaborates extensively across various teams, including Applications Engineering, Service Engineering, Product Development, Project Management Office (PMO), Manufacturing, Finance, Sales, Service Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing to deliver products that drive growth, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Strategy:
•Develop and execute strategic product roadmaps aligned with company objectives.
•Define product direction, positioning, and lifecycle planning based on market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback.
Prioritization and Resource Allocation:
•Prioritize projects using the PGS Prioritization Scorecard, allocate resources effectively, and manage budgets.
•Act as gatekeeper for product management processes, communicating business value and resource rationale.
Product Development and Lifecycle Management:
•Identify and communicate product requirements and value propositions.
•Collaborate across functions to manage new product development and quality standards.
•Oversee performance enhancements, updates, and end-of-life decisions.
Market Research and Competitive Analysis:
•Conduct market and competitor analysis.
•Collaborate with Market Intelligence to deliver actionable insights.
•Communicate market trends and strategic recommendations internally.
Financial Performance Management:
•Manage budgeting, forecasting, pricing, and cost controls.
•Monitor product profitability and implement performance strategies.
•Engage PMO to drive cost-effective execution and financial excellence.
Product Launch and Marketing:
•Collaborate with Marketing and Commercial teams to support product launches.
•Deliver effective product messaging internally and externally.
Customer Excellence:
•Engage customers to gather feedback and build relationships.
•Own user messaging and present at conferences, webinars, and meetings.
Sales Strategy Support:
•Support sales with product training and customer-specific solutions.
•Assist with technical expertise, pricing, and ROI discussions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
•Coordinate with Applications, Engineering, Development, PMO, Finance, Supply Chain, and Marketing.
•Support vendor relationships, including strategic suppliers (MHI, MELCO, MEPPI).
Data Stewardship and Communication:
•Maintain accurate product data and documentation.
•Present roadmaps and product strategy to leadership.
•Improve internal systems to accelerate commercialization.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
•Identify improvements to systems, processes, and product performance.
•Enhance thermal performance, efficiency, emissions, and competitive advantage.
•Collaborate with supply chain for cost reduction and development goals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or at least ten (10) years of related experience in the power generation industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
•Ability to interpret technical and business documents.
•Strong written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical teams.
•Comfortable presenting to leadership, customers, and public groups.
Mathematical Skills:
•Capable of applying statistical and analytical methods for forecasting and performance measurement.
Reasoning Ability:
•Skilled at defining problems, analyzing data, and forming actionable conclusions.
•Adaptable to shifting priorities across multiple projects.
Computer Skills:
•Proficiency in project management tools, databases, spreadsheets, diagrams, and flowcharts.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
•Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, talk, and hear.
•Must frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
•May be required to follow PPE protocols such as hardhat, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
