Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Product Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, responsible for coordinating the creation of all CAD drawings required for product design and to maintain the CAD drawing filing system for sales orders at Kubota Materials Canada Corporation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and developers, to ensure that designs align with project goals and user needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design tools and methodologies, as well as a passion for creating exceptional products.
Duties
•Following Kubota’s drawings standards produce 2-D drawings for Company’s product, including design methods for castability
•Drawings may include, but are not limited to; Static items, Centrifugal items, Purchased items, Fabrication and Assembly, Machine shop, Pressure testing, Jigs/Fixtures
•Work closely with Foundry Engineering Technologist and Customer with regards to manufacturing design allowances and update drawings accordingly
•Create 3D modelling as required
•Following Company procedures issue drawings within the organization, and to Document Control for submission to the Customer
•Support the goals and objectives for the engineering department to ensure alignment
•Support Kubota Global Identity, with the Brand and Spirit statements of Kubota Materials Canada Corporation
•Other related duties, as required
Requirements
•Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, after completion of Kubota’s Drafting Trainee; or diploma from a recognized engineering technology program
•Minimum of 2 years experience working in a Drafting/Engineering department within a Manufacturing environment, or completion of the Drafting Trainee program
•Experience in the use of Solidification Modelling would be considered an asset
•Ability to read/interpret CAD drawings (i.e machinery’s handbook, weld symbols, etc.) is necessary
•Demonstrated the ability to independently identify issues, plan improvements, measure success and continue improvement
•Autodesk Inventor and Autocad design experience is required
•Training in Solidification Modelling would be considered an asset
•Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs
•Exposure to manufacturing resource planning software
•Strong mathematical skills, specifically trigonometry
•Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills, both written and verbal
•Effective time management and organizational skills

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 - 18 months
Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
