We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of parts, equipment, materials, and services. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of procurement processes, and the ability to manage supplier performance to meet company standards.
- Identify and recommend suppliers by researching availability of parts, equipment, machinery, services, and materials.
- Conduct supplier site visits to evaluate production capabilities, performance, and compliance with business criteria.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements that reflect negotiated terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Evaluate bids and select suppliers for standard and non-standard items, negotiating for optimal price, quality, and service.
- Develop alternate sources of supply by identifying and researching prospective suppliers.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, issuing corrective actions when necessary and resolving delivery or quality issues.
- Facilitate resolution of disputes and discrepancies between suppliers and internal teams.
- Negotiate and settle claims related to damages, rejections, returns, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant procurement or supply chain experience.
- Strong knowledge of purchasing and negotiation principles and general business operations.
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (preferably Plex) and standard business software.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
