Procurement Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in sourcing and managing suppliers while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This position requires a strong background in quality management, supply chain processes, and engineering principles. The Procurement Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality and optimize procurement strategies.

Duties

- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational goals.

- Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of materials.

- Conduct thorough evaluations of suppliers based on AS9100, ISO 13485, IATF 16949:2016, and other relevant standards.

- Utilize root cause analysis to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.

- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to support process improvements using Lean manufacturing principles.

- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and CGMP requirements throughout the procurement process.

- Oversee the development of quality systems including PPAP, APQP, and GD&T documentation.

- Analyze data using Minitab for continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.

- Participate in assembly process engineering to enhance product manufacturability.

- Maintain accurate records in AS400 for tracking procurement activities.

Experience

- Proven experience in procurement engineering or a related field within manufacturing environments.

- Strong understanding of quality control, quality assurance, and quality management systems.

- Familiarity with supply chain management principles and practices.

- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

- Proficiency in Six Sigma methodologies for process optimization.

- Experience in sourcing materials and managing supplier performance metrics. This role is essential for maintaining high standards of product quality while ensuring efficient procurement processes.
