It uses its proprietary technology to transform organic food manufacturing waste into renewable crude oil in an environmentally friendly way. The NULIFE team is expanding and needs skilled and knowledgeable operators.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Director, Engineering, the Process & Maintenance Operator will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our HTL process and equipment. This role involves a combination of technical operations, maintenance, and general site duties to support plant performance and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
•Adhere to all company safety protocols, work practices, and policies.
•Daily operation of the process equipment, focusing on key performance metrics such as pressure, temperature, flow, and product quality.
•Monitor plant processes using live reads and HMI systems; collect and analyze operational data.
•Manage feedstock handling, including unloading and transferring materials between tanks and mixing systems.
•Troubleshoot and resolve operational or performance issues by analyzing process data.
•Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system-generated reports to inform operations and engineering.
•Record process and production data in required spreadsheets and reports.
•Participate in monthly safety meetings, conduct hazard assessments, and report non-conformances.
•Assist in the maintenance of process equipment.
•Perform physical tasks, such as lifting up to 25 lbs (including overhead) and operating a forklift to unload trucks.
•Support site upkeep through tasks such as cleaning, painting, grass cutting, and waste removal.
Qualifications:
•Experience: Minimum 2 years of process operations experience.
•Technical Knowledge: Understanding of pressure piping, pumps, valves, and control systems.
•Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, database tools, and familiarity with PLC control systems.
•Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment with strong communication skills.
•Work Ethic: Self-motivated, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
•Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required.
•Education: A technical diploma in Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Chemical fields is an asset.
•Safety: Safety-sensitive role requiring PPE compliance during work hours. Additional safety certifications (e.g., first aid) are beneficial.
•Licensing: Valid Canadian Class 5 Driver’s License with no restrictions. Forklift operator certification is an asset.
Preferred Attributes:
•Formal process operator training (e.g., SAIT, Polytech, or similar institutions).
•Technical background in piping, fluid flow, and pressure systems.
•Power Engineer training or certification.
•Positive attitude, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
