Process Engineer I-III
Where will you work: Onsite – Onsite Colonsay, Saskatchewan
(The job location is at our mine site, situated 65 kilometers (approximately a 45-minute drive) from the city of Saskatoon)
About the role
Are you our next Eng I, II, or III Process Engineer for our Colonsay Process Engineering team?
We are looking for a motivated and self-driven individual to provide leadership and technical support for our surface operations at our production facility located near Colonsay, Saskatchewan. As an Eng I, II or III Process Engineer, you will work alongside operations leadership and frontline personnel to help improve our milling processes through troubleshooting and design. Work responsibilities will reside in both the wet and dry surface processing areas. You will serve as an active contributor in cross-site and/or cross-functional assignments and initiatives. You will be frequently assigned to high-profile projects, support assignments, and will be responsible for engineering support and commissioning of capital projects.
What will you do?
•Operational Excellence (50%). Execution of technical troubleshooting and day-to-day support for operations to achieve targets. Work in conjunction with production personnel to eliminate technical barriers in achieving process parameters. Actively contribute in daily/weekly/monthly KPI reviews & performance management best practices.
•Process Improvement Projects (30%). Contribute to department and site goals through timely and effective execution of process improvement projects. This may involve increasing production capabilities, debottlenecking, safety and environmental stewardship, and product quality improvements.
•Planning (15%). Assist with planning activities including process modeling, development of production targets and parameters, capital design support, and five-year planning activities. Identifying longer term areas of improvement to fill through technology or innovation.
•Environment, Health, and Safety (5%). Ensuring a high-level of safety and environmental excellence is sustained in the operation of the assets in our facilities. Participate and contribute to EHS requirements including safety audits, safety meetings, 5S, and Management of Change.
What you’ll need:
Educational Background
•Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
•Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGS
Experience:
Engineer I
•0-2 years of related experience in engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management or Internship/co-op experience
Engineer II
•2+ years of related experience in engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management
Engineer III
•4+ years of related experience in engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management
Engineer Sr
•8+ years or more of related experience in engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management
Skills:
•Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Collaborative and can perform in a team environment.
•Strong ability to set goals, priorities, and schedule to accomplish tasks.
Other
•Valid Canadian Driving License
•Must be authorized to work in Canada.
