Burrow Global has an immediate opening for an entry level Process Engineer I Candidates for this position will work to optimize and manage the safe and efficient operation of ground-level flare systems used at a petrochemical facility in the Pasadena, TX area.
Candidates will focus on safety, environmental compliance, and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
•Flare System Design and Optimization: review process designs and simulations using industry-standard software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, FlareNET/ Aspen FLARE, AutoCAD) for ground flare systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
•Collaborate with project managers to ensure ground flare operations meet overall operational performance and environmental standards.
•Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Troubleshoot process issues, implement corrective actions, and provide technical support during the installation, commissioning, and operation of flare systems. Ability to review P&ID.
•Safety and Environmental Compliance: Ensure all process designs comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
•Data Analysis and Reporting: Track flare system performance metrics, analyze data to identify areas for improvement, and generate reports documenting process status and changes.
•Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, operations personnel, and contractors, to ensure effective project execution and efficient plant operation.
•Understanding Ground Flare Technology: Possess in-depth knowledge of different flare technologies, including single-point, multi-point, and enclosed ground flares, and their applications.
•Enclosed Ground Flare Systems: Familiar with the use of enclosed ground flares in areas where noise pollution reduction and/or environmental protection are critical considerations.
Education
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with at least 1 year of relevant experience in process engineering, that focuses on ground flare systems.
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using Autocad and MS Excel, MS Office. Some experience with industry-standard software tools such as Aspen HYSYS, FlareNET/ Aspen FLARE,
Technical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop solutions. Ability to read P&ID drawings.
Safety Knowledge: Good understanding of safety regulations and industry standards related to flare systems.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Hours 7:00 – 4:00 pm or 8:00 – 5:00 pm M-F
