TK Modular Systems Inc. (TKMS) is a custom fabricator with an in-house team of professionals dedicated to the engineering, design, fabrication and delivery of Integrated Process Modular Systems.
Our services include Preliminary and Detailed Process Design, 3-D Modeling, Modular Construction, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Installation, Start-Up and Commissioning.
TKMS is globally recognized for our unique expertise in the Design and Modular Construction of Custom-Designed Built to Order Process Systems and Modules specifically for the Biotech and Pharmaceutical Industries.
The Process Designer must be an energetic, self-motivated, and innovative individual with the skills required to successfully develop and execute project tasks and deliverables. This person will work under the direction of experienced Sr. Process Engineers to develop and implement process deliverables and designs on technically complex, custom equipment primarily for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical processes.
Responsible for reading and interpreting client specifications and drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Ensure design compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Review piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and create detailed Bill of Materials or tag list.
Select components and instruments based on process design and project requirements.
Perform engineering calculations and analysis in order to size and select equipment.
Create detailed equipment, instrument and equipment datasheets for approval process, procurement, and quality inspection.
Ensure that projects execute in accordance with the agreed scope, budget and timelines.
Works collaboratively as part of multi-disciplinary design teams.
Provide support to the production, procurement and quality departments to facilitate procurement of parts and fabrication of equipment.
A Mechanical or Chemical engineering degree eligible for licensing in Ontario.
Practical work experience in design engineering of sanitary process systems including piping, vessels, and CIP/SIP requirements considered an asset.
Knowledge of sizing calculations for equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, control valves, and relief valves.
Knowledge about unit operations within pharma/biopharma industries including fermentation, purification, formulation, clean utilities, considered an asset.
Experience selecting piping components, instrumentation and equipment an asset.
Experience with designing piping systems under ASME B31.1, B31.3 and ASME BPE an asset.
Must possess strong communication skills and be proficient in English, oral and written.
This position is not seeking mechanical engineering experience.
