Controls Engineer

The Electrical and Controls Engineer will be a member of a multidisciplinary team to modify existing equipment and install new process equipment. The project engineer will be involved with all phases of the project starting with developing concepts, providing estimates, developing installation timelines, designing power and controls, supporting installation, and testing of the equipment.

Your Day-to-Day:

- Understand and help define project specifications and performance requirements for the equipment and system.

- Understand and help define project requirements for modifications to existing control systems or installation of new control system hardware to meet project needs.

- Provide changes to Process and Instrumentation Drawings, Electrical Elementaries and Loop Sheets.

- Prepare technical documents to support purchase of equipment, installation of equipment, and testing / qualification of equipment.

- Convey project information to all levels of the organization including technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Assist with testing (SWIL/FAT/SAT) and maintain the project specific simulation model (i.e., ACSL/Matlab).

- Provide technical support and input to Westinghouse I&C management.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. A degree in other disciplines may be considered with demonstrated instrumentation and controls acumen.

- Desire for pursuing a career in control systems engineering.

- Preferred skills: Emerson Ovation, MATLAB, Hardware design (Panels/Cabinets/etc)
