Job Overview:
Reporting to the MDR Site Security Lead or Deputy Site Security Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for general security supervision as well as direct mentoring of subcontracted guards and other security services (i.e. drug dogs, security technicians etc). The candidate will also be the primary investigator for security incidents occurring on site. The candidate’s14-7 rotation will be synchronized with that of the Site Security Lead and Deputy Site Security Lead to ensure two Security Management Team members are always on site.
Salary Range: 124,000 - 160,000
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
•Take over all Site Security Lead duties if both the Site Security Lead and Deputy Site Security Lead are absent (i.e. illness, vacation etc.)
•Take over all MFSO duties at the MOF if the MFSO and Deputy MFSO are both absent (i.e. illness, vacation etc.)
•Directly supervise, mentor and train contracted guards at WLNG Project site locations.
•Oversee specialty guard functions such as radar, access control, random searches, CCTV monitoring, mobile patrols etc.
•Lead and assist with/oversee drug detection dog inspections and searches
•Resolve issues or conflicts at Site access points regarding ID badges, Visitors, Vehicle passes and ETMP
•Respond to security incidents within the Floatel and on the Main Site, take control of the incident and the necessary actions to resolve the situation (A&D, verbal conflict, thefts etc)
•Conduct security investigations and write detailed investigation reports
•Oversee security statistics collection
•Oversee security intelligence collection and correlation
•Assist with the implementation of the Project Security Education Program
•Support and lead site HSE initiatives
•Assist with emergencies at the Floatel, MOF or on the Main Site
•Prepare a variety of security reports
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
•Minimum 10 years policing experience
•Minimum 5 years in a police supervision or police management role
•Strong investigative background
•Strong background in training
•Strong knowledge of core security principles
•Strong conflict resolution skills
•Willing to work either Night Shift or Day Shift
•Willing and able to work in a remote, camp style environment
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
•Previous experience working with or supervising contracted guards
•Previous experience on major construction projects and/or working on an oil/gas site
•A background in Safety and/or Emergency Response
•Strong interpersonal, listening and communications skills, capacity to build trust among internal and external stakeholders
•Established track record as a self-starter with the ability to work and succeed without direct supervision
•Demonstrated ability to thrive in high-stress and challenging environments
•Team player – ability to influence without authority, and support the success of a team
•Must have excellent English verbal and writing language skills
Note: Successful candidate will be required to work a 14-7 rotation, up to 12-hour days, and in a camp environment. Candidates will be “on call” after hours and may be required to work split shifts at times.
