Position Specific Description In this job you will:

- Perform on site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex server problems and recommend and implement corrective hardware and/or software solutions.

- Recommend, schedule and perform server OS improvements, upgrades, and repairs.

- Provide guidance to junior members of the team as required.

Technical Proficiency

- Linux/Unix Administration

- Expertise in Unix/Linux operating systems, particularly IBM AIX and Linux.

- Proficiency in scripting languages (Perl, shell scripting, Bash, Python) for task automation.

- Hands-on experience with Unix virtualization technologies (IBM PowerVM, VMware).

- Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools.

- Experience in clustering and/or high availability solutions that include IBM PowerHA.

General IT Skills

- Strong understanding of network protocols, security measures, routing, and switching.

- Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery planning and execution.

- Familiarity with ITIL practices for IT service management.

Job Overview

This position oversees provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, customer support, and maintenance of systems hardware, infrastructure application software, and related infrastructure. Employees in this role participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. Individuals ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, infrastructure applications, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.

- Acts as a resource for colleagues, offering instruction, guidance, and direction to others

- Directs the work of other staff members, when needed

- Serves as a technical escalation point for technicians and customers

- Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

- High School Grad / GED

- Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience

- Experience: 6+ years
