Purpose

Drive impactful regional communication strategies, optimize media relationships, handle media coverage, lead crisis communications, collaborate globally for consistent messaging, manage press releases, support team initiatives, train on standard methodologies, report to senior management, and facilitate regional events.

Knowledge

This role emphasizes expertise in developing regional communication strategies, managing media relations, handling crisis communications, and engaging effectively with stakeholders. Given the strategic and leadership nature of the position, candidates should possess a solid foundation in Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline—gained through formal education and supplemented by substantial hands-on experience. Practical knowledge in media management, public perception, and event coordination is crucial. The role also requires a high level of proficiency in public relations practices and the ability to lead communication initiatives with confidence and clarity. Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to foster collaboration across teams are essential for both leadership and support responsibilities within the organization.

Training& Experience

For this Principal Regional Communications role, the applicant must demonstrate advanced proficiency in these areas. Identify practical application proficiency in strategic communication and media management that best supports these activities within your organization. The role also necessitates familiarity with communication tools and platforms, including the ability to carry out specific activities using appropriate tools and processes to achieve defined business outcomes.

Bilingual in English and Spanish

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience

Experience in mining industry or related industries is a plus.
