Press Brake Operator

Position Overview:
A manufacturing company in Berea is seeking a skilled and experienced Press Brake Operator to join its team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to produce high-quality fabricated components. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, solid understanding of fabrication processes, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
•Set up and prepare press brake machines by selecting and aligning dies.
•Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and production orders.
•Calculate bend allowances, tonnage requirements, and determine correct machine settings.
•Load and unload materials, ensuring proper alignment and positioning.
•Secure workpieces using clamps, bolts, or other fixtures.
•Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
•Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines.
•Work with team members and supervisors to improve processes and resolve issues.
•Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Minimum 3 years of experience operating press brakes, rolls, or related fabrication equipment.
•Experience with Cincinnati or Steelwell press brakes (mechanical and hydraulic) preferred.
•Strong ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
•Proficient in basic math, including Algebra 1-level calculations.
•Familiarity with press brake controls and settings.
•Capable of independent machine setup and operation.
•Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
•Good problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
•Must be able to stand for extended periods.
•Able to lift 25–50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, and reaching.
•Steel-toe boots and safety glasses required (reimbursement provided if needed).
•Work environment is not climate-controlled.
Compensation & Benefits:
•Competitive hourly wage: $20–26/hr based on experience
•Additional $2/hr for 2nd shift differential
•$3,000 sign-on bonus (paid in installments every 90 days for the first year)

Schedule:
•2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM
•10-hour shifts with overtime available
•Initial training may begin on 1st shift at standard pay rate
